Cyber Security Notes - Part 6

Where is it possible to find the best cyber security training today? Here are some top university programs.

University of Maryland University College: UMUC was acknowledged as a finalist in the 2013 Best Cyber Education Program competition. Offering undergrad, graduate, and certification programs in cybersecurity, UMUC’s cybersecurity faculty-practitioners and Virtual Security Lab ensures students are prepared for their future tech career.

Oklahoma State University: The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security recognize and approve the Information Assurance program at OSU. They even offer an Information Assurance Scholarship Program (IASP) in cooperation with the DoD.

University of Texas at San Antonio: Several DoD scholarships and a partnership with the National Defense University allow the University of Texas to produce highly skilled and adequately trained information security professionals through their Computer Science Department.

University of Washington: UW’s Center for Information Assurance and Cybersecurity program partnered with industry leaders, including Microsoft and the Armed Forces.

Also interesting is the inclusion of Norwich University, The Military College of Vermont. It is a private university located in Northfield, Vermont and the oldest private military college in the U.S.
Norwich is recognized by the National Security Agency and of Department of Homeland Security as a Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education.

Ghaffari Speaks at Honeywell Aerospace Aero Women's Council

April 15, 2015 Elizabeth Ghaffari was guest speaker at the Aero Women's Council, a group of women in STEM professions at Honeywell Aerospace in Torrance, CA. After speaking about "lessons from women in leadership," Ghaffari fielded questions on careers, staying positive, and adding value in professional settings.

April 7, 20115 - Elizabeth Ghaffari's article, The Cunningham Option, was posted on the NACD Directorship Magazine site. The article presents a new and creative approach to increasing the pipeline of diverse talent available to the boardroom.
